FORMAT DEFINITIONS FOR 2009 TWGA TOURNAMENTS

1.  A-B-C-D Best Ball

4-Person Team with one player from each Division A, B, C, and D.  Four names with number of strokes allowed for each hole for each player marked on scorecard.  The fifth line will be used for the Team Score for the tournament competition.  Team score consists of two best net scores on each hole.

2.  Best 9

At the end of the competition before turning in your card you may choose your best two part 5’s, best two par 3’s and best five par 4’s.  Circle the chosen scores and add these 9 holes for your tournament competition.

3.  3-4-5 X-OUT

Throw out one par 3, one par 4 and one par 5.

4.  2 Lady Best Ball

Two-Person Team.  Limit of 10 strokes between players counted from lowest handicap.  Number of strokes allowed for each hole for each player will be marked on score card.  3rd line used for Lowest Gross score on each hole.  4th line used for Best Net Ball score on each hole.

5.  Championship

Medal Play both days.

6.  Points

Points will be given as follows:  1 for bogey, 2 for par, 3 for birdie, 4 for eagle.  Winner is determined by the highest number of points in each division. 

7.  Criss Cross

Front 9 holes are paired up with the corresponding back 9 holes. In other words, No. 1 and No. 10 are paired, No. 2 and No. 11, No. 3 and No. 12, and so on up to No. 9 and No. 18.  Compare the scores received on the paired holes and chose the lower of the two.  Add up the 9 holes you’ve circled for your total tournament score.
